The Village of Savoy was incorporated in 1956. Savoy maintains a quality of life typically associated with small Midwestern towns, including municipal tax rates far below that of Champaign or Urbana, acreage of prime undeveloped land, a low crime rate, quiet un-congested neighborhoods, and a responsive government.

The Village of St. Joseph was founded 28 April 1881. St. Joseph is a fast growing community of approximately 3,000 people. Our Village is a friendly one, ideally located for family living, and its residents take pride in keeping their homes and premises neat and attractive.

Tolono, a small town (population approximately 2,600) located just south of Savoy and north of Pesotum does not have its own Web site, but many of its facilities do. The modern Tolono Public Library offers many programs for the town's residents, and even provides free use of a meeting room along with some other wonderful services.

The Tolono Park District, formed in 1975, is currently working on raising the money necessary to purchase the old Unity Junior High School property. The acreage would allow the park district to expand its services to the community.

Tolono is home to the Unit #7 School District, which serves the educational needs of the towns of Tolono, Philo, Sidney, Sadorus, and Pesotum.
